Barnaby certainly looked like a real dog and ridiculously acted just like a dog, but he was so NOT a dog, and yet he was SUCH a dog...
I can't figure it out....
On the one hand, he was demanding, insistent, stubborn in ensuring his walk/ball agenda was met to HIS standards.
And during quiet moments, he awarded me with a job well done by leaning back most stylishly, inviting me in to rub his belly and a good old fashioned nap.
He came to me as a 1 year old pup, a VERY scared of everything dog who faced many fears. And yet, with the work we did together, gained ridiculous amounts of confidence in his life.
I feel so incredibly lucky to share time with a wild amazing life sign who brought great challenges and even greater love.
During our most quiet of moments, I felt such great teachings of the mystery. I wondered who he truly was as he appeared in dog form and yet was so much more than a dog. Well...it truly IS a mystery!
I named my business 'Barnaby AND the MYSTERY' as it is so clear that Barnaby came into my life to grow me and share what it is to be truly human.
If you are reading this, chances are you have a Barnaby in your life. You may think it's just a dog, or a cat or even a fish, but you already may know that they are actually not that at all....
And, if your animal friend is not quite making your life easy, i.e., incessant barking, separation anxiety, urinating where they shouldn't be....then CONGRATS! You are being asked to go meet them in Great Mystery to heal together.
We share the most incredible emotional bond with our animals and because of that, they truly mirror back to us our own behaviors, such as joy, fear, anxiety, stress, etc. If we learn how to truly listen to them, we can swiftly resolve any behavior issue.
Maybe you have already tried conventional training options and maybe they worked to a degree...well what I offer is not by fixing your animal companion. It's by relationship.

H20 at Da Fear-No-More Sanctuary
How this work evolved...I have been a student of Adi Da Samraj (a great Spiritual Teacher) for over 20 years. One of his greatest teachings is how to live moment to moment in the mystery. In addition, he points out that humans have lost their connection to the natural world. The result is a planet whose very existence is threatened and a world in which the entire non-human realm is subjected to domination, control, and exploitation.
Thus, there is great import for participating with non-humans to engage our connection to the natural world and its great gifts. Adi Da shares that non-humans are 'contemplatives' (if not interfered with) and thus naturally know how to live in the mystery - and if we are sensitive to their state, we can learn how to become more contemplative and thus also meet them in the mystery (where they live).
I also volunteer at the Da Fear-No-More Sanctuary in California where I can joyfully connect with many non-human friends.

Given this background and my absolute LOVE and GRATITUDE to animals, it was destiny to find out how to simply connect with them - and become more human. It continues to blow my mind to see such immediate and joyful changes, for both humans and non-humans.
